Is Ogar free to use?
Yes, completely. No subscription, no listing fee, no hidden charges — for both Seekers and Listers.
Is Ogar only available in Pune?
Yes, we currently operate in Pune. More cities are something we're working towards!
Do I need an account to browse listings?
No. You can browse and search listings without creating an account. However, you'll need to sign up to apply for a room or post a listing.

How does Ogar verify users?
When you register, we send an OTP to your email address to confirm your identity. You're also required to provide a phone number, which our team uses internally for review purposes.
Are listings verified?
Yes. Every listing is manually reviewed by the Ogar team before it goes live. We check for fake, duplicate, or misleading posts so you only see genuine listings.
Is my phone number visible to other users?
No. Your phone number is never shared publicly or with other users by default. It is only used internally by our team. You can choose to share your contact details with another user only if both of you opt in.
How do I report a suspicious listing or user?

For Seekers
How do I search for a room?
Use the search and filter options on the Platform to narrow listings by budget, location, room type, furnishing, gender preference, move-in date, and more.
How do I apply for a room?
Once you find a listing you like, simply hit apply. Ogar will auto-generate a personalised introduction message that highlights why you're a good fit — so your application actually stands out.
Can I customise my application message?
The message is auto-generated based on your profile. Make sure your profile is filled out well — the better your profile, the stronger your introduction.
What happens after I apply?
Your application goes to the Lister. If they approve it, the in-app chat opens and you can connect directly from there.
When do I get the Lister's contact details?
Only after both you and the Lister opt in to share contact information. Until then, all communication happens through Ogar's in-app chat.
For Listers
How do I post a room?
Just write about your room the same way you'd describe it in a WhatsApp message or Facebook post. Our AI reads it and automatically fills in all the structured details — no form filling needed.
Who can see my listing?
Anyone visiting ogar.in can browse your listing. However, your personal contact details are never visible unless you choose to share them.
Can I control who applies to my listing?
Yes. You review every application and only approve the ones you're comfortable with. Chat only opens after you give the green light.
Can I edit or remove my listing?
Yes, you can manage your listings anytime from your dashboard.
What if my listing text isn't structured perfectly?
Don't worry about it. Our AI picks up the details from plain, natural language. Just describe your room honestly and it'll handle the rest.
Communication & Privacy
How does the in-app chat work?
Once a Lister approves a Seeker's application, a chat opens between the two of them on Ogar. No contact details need to be exchanged for this to happen.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data. Just write to us at support@ogar.in and we'll action it promptly.
